Spring Fling Fund-a-Need! We made it!!!

I just wrote my bulletin article about this, and I think it is worth sharing in total for a fuller story. Thank you for all your support!

Dear St. John Paul II Area Faith Community,

“Let’s Build Together”

As I sit down to write this letter, a generous benefactor just dropped off a $500 donation together with his employer’s $500 matching gift, for a total of $1,000 for our fund-a-need! As many of you know, we held our annual gala fundraising event this past Saturday. As it was last year, this year it was held virtually, with people participating from all over the country. From 7-8:30 in the evening, we live-streamed an event which highlighted the live auction items and our very high level of humor—thank you Tim, Joe and Jeff!

A very generous, local benefactor gave us a matching grant of up to $50,000, and this year, that became our fund-a-need. By the end of the live-streamed event, we had raised almost $35,000 in our auctions, and I think we had about $20,000 toward our $50,000 matching grant. I was feeling a little skeptical that we would be able to reach our goal. By the end of the night a few hours later by the time I went to bed, I think we had almost $30,000. My hope started to burn a little more brightly. By the time I went to bed on Sunday night, we were right around $40,000.

Mid-morning on Monday we had reached over $46,000, and I sent off one final appeal through our Facebook page and our website. And the money just continued to flow in. I was and am blown away! Wow! I am most happy to report that, as of this moment, we have raised $59,711, far beyond our matching grant goal of $50,000.

So we know that we will raise at least $145,000 from this year’s event! Last year I think we had one of our very best years, with about $75,000 in profit, and this year we have basically doubled last year’s record breaking amount!

The thing that I am continually amazed by is the support and generosity of the Holy Trinity school community. Wow! There are so many of you who love this school and want to see it succeed. Thank you! Thank you!!!

As my first year is coming to an end soon, I feel like I have done so little. My feeling is that we have only just begun. We are merely scratching the surface. God has big plans, and I am so excited to see the wonders that He is going to continue to do here at Holy Trinity School.

Remember, we pray for our benefactors as a school every day. Please keep us in your prayers.

God Bless,

Anthony Biese, Principal
